Explore the ancient knowledge of the Incas, who built the circular terraces in Moray, that was the ancient agricultural laboratory, because each level of the superimposed platforms could simulate different types of microclimates from the lowest temperatures to the highest, so Incas could calculate the level of annual production in the Tahuantinsuyo.

CUSCO – CHINCHEROS – MARAS – MORAY – CUSCO.
This day of exploration of the Inca vestiges will begin with the pick-up from your hotel (downtown Cusco) to depart for Maras, during the journey you will have a beautiful panoramic view of the snow-capped La Verónica and Chicón mountains in the Urubamba Mountain range at 4600 meters above sea level. Once in Maras you will be able to appreciate village and its colonial buildings, and then continue with our visit to the Moray Archaeological Center, characteristic for its circular terraces whose function was a culture laboratory in Inca period.
Then we will go to Las Salineras de Maras, also called salt mines on the slope of the hill, the excavated terraces are fed by salt water that comes from the spring of Apu Qaqawiñay or Qori Puji. The exploitation of the salt mine is as old as the Tahuantinsuyo, nowadays local population is in charge of the salt extraction activities. To end our tour, we will return to Cusco City
